One job, not two
Automatic gates work best when the gate and opener are built together.
A lot of people call us because someone else installed the gate, and then a different company came out later to bolt on an opener — and now nothing lines up. The gate is too heavy for the operator's weight class, the posts weren't sized for the leverage of a powered swing, or the safety loops are missing entirely because nobody thought about them before the concrete went down.
We handle the whole automatic driveway gate as one install. The operator gets picked based on the gate's actual size and weight. The posts get sized for the wind load plus the operator's cycle load. The safety loops go in the driveway before the concrete does. And the whole system gets tested end-to-end before we leave.
The result is a driveway gate that opens when you pull up, closes behind you, and doesn't need to be babied for the next decade.
Gate types
Driveway gate automation styles we install.
Single-swing gates are the simplest — one leaf, one operator, up to about 16 feet of driveway opening. They're the cheapest to automate and the most reliable long-term because there's only one moving part in the equation.
Dual-swing gates split the opening in the middle with two leaves, each with its own operator. This is what most residential customers picture when they think "driveway gate" — the two panels meeting in the center, opening in unison. They handle openings up to 30 feet cleanly and look more finished from the street.
Slide gates roll horizontally on a track and are the right pick when you don't have room to swing a gate inward — steep driveways, tight driveways, or commercial sites with vehicles queued at the gate. We install both cantilever slides (no ground track) and v-track slides depending on the driveway condition.
Access and safety
Getting through the gate — safely.
Every automatic gate we install gets photo eyes across the opening and safety loops in the driveway. If a car or a person is in the path, the gate stops. This is UL 325 code and it's not optional, but it's the first thing cheaper installs skip.
For access we can wire up keypads (for guests with a code), long-range remotes (for you and family), cellular intercoms (so a delivery driver can call your phone and you can buzz them in from anywhere), and vehicle-detection loops that open the gate on the way out without you having to touch anything.
Battery backup comes standard on residential installs so a power outage doesn't lock you in or out. On commercial we can add solar to run the whole thing off-grid where that makes sense. Reach out for a driveway walk-through.
